2. Transformation of Movement


The input energy must be converted into the intended movement of the model.


 

Crank slider

transforms the rotation of a lever into an up-and-down and back-and-forth movement. Ruffler's model "Off Road" is moved by a crank slider, just like many of Keith Newstead's models.

Cams and pushrods

convert a rotation into a linear up- and down movement. Newstead often uses cams together in conjunction with cams and pushrods.

        

 



Friction wheel drive

The driven wheel is smaller than the driving wheel, so there is a transformation into a higher speed.
Gear wheel drive

Rotational speed and sense of rotation can be changed.
