In the 19th century the work of the Bavarian
designer Lothar Meggendorfer was pioneering for the development
of mechanical toy books. Modern pop-up-books are popular especially
in the USA. They are often made in Columbia and in Far East. Flatmechanics and pop-up-cards are suitable to work with at school. Pupils can colour the construction sheets, cut them out and glue them together in a short time. Some mechanisms are so simple that children can take them to realize their own designs. |
